New York CIty Engagement Photographer - Julie + Brooks

Now this was one fantastic experience-
I met Julie at the beginning of the fall and we were trying to figure out a time when she and Brooks could come down from NYC for an engagement shoot. Well after about 10 seconds I threw out the idea of me coming to them. The city in the fall seemed too great to pass up and off I went.
A whirlwind, 24 hour, round trip to NYC - the Brooklyn Bridge at sunrise, a walk around the city as she came to life, a fantastic couple in love- all of it was perfect.
Thank you Julie and Brooks!!!
Traveling this fall has been such a wonderful experience- I can't wait for my next trip :)

After the bridge we went to Julie and Brooks' rooftop and (btw Lady Liberty was just below us) and the sun perfect.

Hickory North Carolina Photographer/ Engagement

Katherine and Chris....

You can feel the easy comfort between the two of them. He is thoughtful of her- helping her to change her shoes, telling her which is his favorite dress and how beautiful she is...and she is just as much of a compliment to him making him laugh and feel at ease. They have been each others true love for many years and I am lucky enough to photograph this part of their lives.

Katherine's family is quite special to me. I have photographed them often over the years. The last milestone being Katherine's sister Sarah's wedding to Ryen on Bald Head Island in June.

I am welcomed by them all like I am part of the family (thanks for the pears and apples Mr. Rogers, and the apple butter and honey Sally!)

I traveled to Hickory to photograph the session on Chris' grandparent's farm. It was breath taking...the flowers, the mountains, the old barn...
I was invited to stay with Katherine's family. It just felt like home...
It was such a great weekend- thanks for having me to Sunday dinner. It was an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable time.
I can't wait to enjoy a few Skinny Barracuda's with you guys back on the island in a few weeks!
Take a look...

Style Me Pretty/Bald Head Island Wedding Photographer/Ann Yates and Jon

FEATURED ON STYLE ME PRETTY

This was one amazing day.
I first met Ann Yates mother and father last winter and felt instantly at ease. With their family enjoyment comes first- and they really want everyone to have a good time no matter what you're doing :)

We decided a first look would be best so that Ann Yates and Jon could go on and enjoy the entire reception with their family and friends.
I love to shoot weddings this way. It is, of course, a completely individual decision that each couple makes and, it was a good fit for Ann Yates and Jon.
All weddings are surrounded by tons of hoopla, emotion and a teensy bit of stress- but I have never seen anyone relax like Ann Yates did when she saw Jon for the first time that day. Jon was adorable- he wanted Ann Yates to tie his bow tie properly. Sweet love.

They were married on Bald Head in June at the Village Chapel. Ann Yates wore a custom Heidi Elnora gown with a collar- Ann Yates' signature look. And Jon, the bow tie...
It was a warm day to say the least( 100 degrees!) but it didn't hinder their joy one bit- another thing that I loved about working with them. Nothing but happiness. This couple knows no boundaries when it comes to fun :)

Kim Fisher provided the incredible floral design (as well as the cute ampersand prop)- and... I have bouquet love for the gorgeous one that Anne Yates carried.
Courtney Arnold of Stellar Events helped the day unfold beautifully.
Everyone danced the night away at the Bald Head Island Club while Lindsey Cheek made sure that the evening ran smoothly.
Thank you, thank you for letting me be a part of your day! It was truly fabulous!!!

I love the hand made rosettes on the table cloth as well and the departure from a flower boutonniere. Kim made the groom's bout from ribbon instead.

The red roses stand out so beautifully against the green of the garden. And the tall silver candelabras? Exquisite.
Eat. Cake. Love.

Heidi Elnora's fabulous gown gives me chills. The simplicity and elegance- gasp...

Kim made these adorable, succulent terrariums as take away gifts for the guests.
